This
hypothermia season, our goal is to strengthen the Legal Clinic's Homeless Families
Link-Up Program, and we need your help! On any given night in DC, there
are about 7,000 people experiencing homelessness, nearly 40 percent of whom are
families with children. Safety net programs are being stretched well beyond
their current limits, leaving families quite literally out in the cold. Imagine
parents being told "there's no room at the shelter," and facing the
choice of either splitting up their family or tucking in their children yet one
more night in the back seat of a car. Your support will help us
to assure that no mom or dad is forced to face such heart-wrenching alternatives.
Since
1986, the Legal Clinic has led the effort to achieve justice for our neighbors
who are homeless. We think that, as you learn more about this special
organization, you will be inspired to do the same. We look forward to sharing
this journey with you!
