Description of the Legal Clinic's Work
The Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless provides the District of Columbia's residents with legal representation in public benefits, shelter, public housing, and other civil matters.
Intern Responsibilities and Projects
Our interns work along with our staff in providing direct representation to homeless individuals and families and in supporting our volunteers. The types of matters our interns handle, under attorney supervision, will include direct client casework, researching legal questions, coalition work, and community education work.
Qualifications
We look for applicants who are committed to doing public interest law upon graduation and have at least one year of law school. Applicants should have good oral and written communication skills.

For more information, call 202-328-5500. The Legal Clinic generally has one intern each semester and two during the summer. The internship is unpaid.
